Our Vision, the North Star we’re heading toward … is to build a small sustainable community practicing Malama Aina and Aloha Aina, using modern permaculture and old Hawaiian techniques to restore a small piece of agroforest.
From this vision, we have identified some general goals …
- Grow a self-sustaining small farming family: a community with similar interests
- Preserve the peace and quiet of the valley we live in
- Replace invasive trees and plants with canoe, native and endemic Hawaiian species providing food, materials or protection
- Responsibly manage and restore the property to preserve it for future generations
Sometimes goals conflict with each other … we will grow many vegetables to sustain ourselves that are not native, canoe or endemic Hawaiian species.
